I notice that you can't subscribe to topics or forums here. Is there a reason for that?

Because, with the number of members (i.e., potential subscribers) here, they put a strain on the mail server which effects the performance of the entire site.

What is the best way to search for all posts made by yourself to see if anybody has responded to a thread that you're participating in? At the moment I use the search box and put my nick in the Serach by Member box and the letter 'a' in the Search For box.

The hosting package that I use with my hosting company has tons of spare bandwidth that I pay for but don't use. Can anybody think of anyway that I can give that bandwidth to this forum so that we can use the subscribe feature?

No, there is no way, unless you were on the same server. Besides the issue isn't one of bandwidth, it's the resources used to generate and send e-mails to each subscriber.

it has nothing to do with bandwidth or strain on the mail server, it is the asp mail components which cause the problems, if subscriptions were allowed posting messages would start to take minutes instead of seconds while the asp engine dealt with the mail
