I am using latest version of Snitz (just installed it Friday, 3/11/2005), on IIS 5+, Windows 2003 Server.

The link a new user must click in their "confirmation" e-mail is not working. When that link is clicked, it takes you to a "page not found" error.

I have modified the register.asp file to include the MOD to send an e-mail to the Forum Admin when a new user registers; however, I don't see where that would have an effect on the link that is generated and sent to the new user once their registration has been approved.

Interestingly--also happening--as the Forum Admin, when I go to the "pending members" page and I click the link to "activate account," I also get a "page not found" error.

Can someone please tell me what I may have done wrong here?

Thanks for your help!

Sheryl

Your register.asp has an error

http://www.tali.org/forum/register.asp?mode=Register

Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03ea'

Syntax error

/forum/register.asp, line 606

Administrator Notification Mod
------------------------------^

You should probably comment out that line e.g.
'Administrator Notification Mod

Podge,

Thanks so much ... as you were replying, I was still "digging" to find a solution. I turned off "friendly error messages" in OE, and found the VBScript compilation error. As you said, it was in the Admin Notification Mod ... Fortunately, I made a copy of my register.asp file before adding the Admin Notification Mod (which I ALWAYS make a copy of ANY file that I mess with). I restored my old register.asp file, and re-did the Admin Notification Mod, and now it works.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I also found (after digging down several pages in the Snitz Help Forum) where someone else had a similar problem. I apologize for posting basically a duplicate question ... sometimes the "search" function works great to find the answer you need, and sometimes it doesn't. I guess it all depends on how other people word their questions.

Anyway--thank you again for taking the time to look and reply. All of y'all are so friendly and helpful!!

Sheryl

At least there's twice the chance someone else will find the solution next time....
