The search feature is not working after the forum www.deliriumsrealmforum.com was upgraded to v3.4.05
The results page shows just a black box. If you 'select all' from the browser, the error in the black box reads Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0009' Subscript out of range: 'fF_PASSWORD_NEW' /search.asp, line 472
The error shows up for both members and non-members.
The admin and I have poured over the snitz forums looking for an answer, but to no avail. I've also tried googling and looking over at www.shnforum.com
Here's are some details about the forum. Snitz forum version 3.4.05 Database is SQL Server www.aracnet.com/~tux/siamhie/search.asp.txt" target="_blank">Search.asp in text format
Any help would be grateful

I'm not sure why my post was moved into the MOD section. The problem isn't a MOD implementation, it was an issue with an upgrade of the forum itself. |

Correction: don't move it back. You have the Poll mod installed and that, I am certain, is the reason for the error. I would suggest this:
1. Backup your current search.asp and use a clean search.asp from the Snitz download. Test it. 2. Read the poll mod setup instructions and add the changes to search.asp with the utmost care. |

Third and final post on this issue (I reckon I can be penalised as a spammer ). You have a statement changing the index of the values to access the recordset returned from the search, but I saw no changes to the SQL for that search. That is, quite likely, the reason for the error (thus the subscript out range error).
Review the changes recommended by the poll mod and make sure you have applied all of them correctly. |

Well there is one thing that I need to write: it's of fundamental importance that we know exactly what kind of forum (version) and what mod's people have installed when they come to request help on problems with their forums. We know for sure that the base version, by now, is basically bug free, so when a situation like this arises, it's of the utmost importance that we know about all the possible causes for the problem. Mod installation is a VERY BIG cause for forum errors, so please make sure you tell us all changes that have been done to the forum before requesting help. |

thanks again ruirib.....our search feature is working again
the admin went thru the changes made during the upgrade and removed the poll mod section of the search.asp code
the other issue we have has to do with editing posts with quotes.
this time, i'll be sure to include all mods that are in place. |
