I am trying to setup the latest version of Snitz Forum. So far I have followed all of the instructions to set it up using an access database. I uploaded whereami.asp to my server under the "wwwroot" folder. In my web browser I type in
http://thechattery.com/wwwroot/whereami.asp?dbname=snitz_forums_2000.mdb

but I get the "this page cannot be displayed" generic page from Internet Explorer. What have I done wrong?

Please help, thank you

Apparently the path you are using is incorrect.

huh?!? Maybe I am having a blond moment but why are you uploading into a wwwroot directory?!? Is not the wwwroot directory for local testing only?!? All you need to do with the whereami.asp page is upload it into your forum db directory (i.e. www.thechattery.com\forum\database) and then plug in the url into your web browser to extract the exact location (i.e. www.thechattery.com\forum\database\whereami.asp) This should give you the exact path to your db.

If You Have to Ask, You Wouldn't Understand.

'wwwroot' is almost always the folder you should upload files you want displaying on your website to, you just don't need to include it in the url (so it would be www.thechattery.com/whereami.asp, instead of www.thechattery.com/wwwroot/whereami.asp)...

Did you try putting it in a folder like www.thechattery.com/forum/db/whereami.asp ?

Seems like the file isn't really there? What is the name of your root web folder?

I can't get to any of your pages, not even to www.thechattery.com - Are you sure it's online?
