I have set up my forum on a local server and although it is saying I am logging in successfully I am not getting the administrator options appearing.
I have a forum working on another server and I copied down all the file apart from the database leaving the config intact. I replaced the database and set up the tables again.
Are you logging in in general ("You logged on successfully"), or logging in to the Admin section ("Administrator Login was successfull")
And does your forum retain the general login? i.e. it says you're logged in but then when you go back and check you're not?
Another thing is that you don't have to be the intAdminMemberID to be able to log in as an admin - You just need to make sure your user level is set to Administrator.
Hi there - sorry for the long delay in replying. I have been working on another project.
I am trying to put the admin login and password into the login area. It says "You have logged in successfully" switches back to the main forum page, the login box and password remain and there are no functions. I have downlaoded the latest version again today and successfully installed the files. It continues to do the same thing.
The same thing happens if I register as a new user and log in. The screen says logged in successfully but switches back to the main login page.
I am running this on a network server intended for internal use only.
I hope someone can help - this is baffling me especially as I have successfully set up and used the forum before.
I have reviewed some of the posts and there may be a connection with the fact that the files are running on a Windows 2003 server and the administrator and user are getting caught in a session state loop.
I have looked at the fixes for the problems that others have had but I dont really know enough about all of this to be able to put this right.
If this is the case I would be really grateful for some assistance. kind regards emma gale
