I'm trying to integrate a site for the general public with
one that is for "members only" , and the "members only"
section includes a Snitz forum along with other stuff.

I'd like to be able to have the user need only one username/password
set for my site (the Snitz one).

On my home page, I would have a nav bar, and when they click the
"Members Only" button it gives them the login screen. If they are
validated, then they would be taken to another html page with
the "members" nav bar. One of the buttons on this bar would be
the link to the Forum.

Is there a mod out there that does this? Or what do you see
as having to be modified to get to this point?

Thanks for the help!

Bryan

Snitz already has a login page built in, and if you set your forums to require registration they will be restricted to members only. You could alter the nav links in the header to include other members only pages as well.

Thanks, Nertz. Maybe I'm not real clear on what I'm asking.

I do want to use the Snitz login page, or at least the same login id's and
passwords, but after login I'd like to be able to land in a page of my
choosing instead of in the forum.

And when the user does choose to come to the forum (from that page), they
should already be authorized due to having already passed through the login
page.

Thanks!

You should be able to edit the login page and change the redirect after successful login to your pages, and link into the forums. But you would still need to edit the nav links in the forum header file to get back to your member only home pages.

There's also a universal login mod over at SnitzBitz, which you can see in use over there. Will require a little customization but I'm sure you can make it work for you.

I also recommend your member pages be asp and include part of the header code so that non-members can't bypass the login if they knew the url to the members pages
