Is there any easy way to make the full name required? I'm using these forums in a college course setting to allow the students to discuss outside of class. It has been working very well in six classes in a testing situation. However, the professors would like to see the names of the students but sometimes the students don't include their name.

I thought about keeping the user name and making their full name required. The other option is that I remove full name from the user details and change user name to "full name". Which do you recommend?

You can send me your register.asp and inc_profile.asp files and I can make that modification for you.

I will probably just go into the appropriate pages and change the text from "User Name" to "Full Name" and remove first name and sur name from the profile. The students will have to register with their first and last name because that will be the only way we will be able to add them to the member list of a particular forum.

Thanks!
Matt

You didn't have to do that.
You could just place a check to make sure they fill in the first and last name boxes. If they don't, you send them back to fill it out.
I was willing to do it for you, so you wouldn't have to do it yourself. But if you are comfortable with the changes you made, great.

Good Luck with your forum.
