Seems that someone's been hitting the "do not archive" option when locking some threads (look at the date of the last posts on this page): link

Edit: also in the mods W/O forum, no doubt elsewhere link

it's because there was a bug in the original "do not archive" code which automatically flagged locked topics as not to be archived
