For now I had to shut off email verification because I can not get it to work with AOL.
If a new member logs in using an email address from anyplace else there is no problem. I have tested this with people having email addresses of @bellsouth.net, @adelphia.net, @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com, etc.
If I try to verify someone with @AOL.com I get back a message that says the following:
MailEnable: Message delivery has been delayed.
Message is waiting at savealotofbucks.com for delivery to mailin-03.mx.aol.com.
Reason: Could not deliver this message to the remote host aol.com because the connection either failed or was refused. MailEnable will keep trying to deliver this message and will notify you of any progress.
Message headers follow:
Received: from MyServer ([192.168.1.1]) by MyDomain.com with MailEnable ESMTP; Fri, 04 Feb 2005 16:12:02 -0500 From: <MyAddress@MyAddress.com> To: <ANY ADDRESS@aol.com> Subject: Website Registration Date: Fri, 4 Feb 2005 16:12:02 -0500 Message-ID: <001601c50afe$2c0a9870$0501a8c0@WorldWideEmail> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Mailer: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000 Thread-Index: AcUK/iwKtQPK76+LRKuqo0VMhSprDA== Content-Class: urn:content-classes:message X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2800.1441
Again, this is only happening with AOL.COM email addresses. I don't know if this makes any difference, but I am using Mail Enable as my mail server software. The emails sent to AOL.com are never delivered.
Any assistance would be appreciated. I hope I did not miss this answer in another post. I did a search for AOL VERIFY but came up empty.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. |

Maybe you should check it with AOL. If the email is sent to every other server but AOL, I'd say it's an issue with AOL.Can't a user of yours that is also an AOL subscriber contact them, so that you know of any special requisites needed for AOL to receive email from your server? |

Good idea. I will give it a shot and see what happens. I thought it might be a known issue with Snitz, but I suppose not.
Thanks for the reply. |

There is a known issue with AOL, but it's related to the email validation link sent in the email being broken into two lines. That means that we know email validation messages do reach AOL subscribers.
It may also happen that your email address is being classified as possible spam, or similar. A contact with AOL may allow you to find the cause and correct the issue.
P.S.: Have you verified whether your email message was sent to Spam quarantine, or similar folder? Did you ask your users about it? |

This is not a problem with the link breaking (at least not yet). I just can not get mail out to AOL users at all. I have no problem sending email to AOL addresses outside of Snitz (using Outlook for example).
I will work on this tomorrow when I am not so tired. Who knows, I may think of something and fix it at 2am. lol
Thanks again for your help. |

I have the mail working. Apparently I have to use my ISP as the outgoing mail server. I can not use my own mail server because it shows up as a relayed message to AO-Hell. |
