I'm fairly new to Snitz Forums, and I'm liking them real well so far. However, I'd like to know if we have the option of pointing to off-site URLs to retrieve an avatar image like phpBB does. I'm almost certain the users will want to do this rather than pick from a limited list I provide on the site.

What sort of code changes would I need to make to pull this off?

I believe you misunderstand. I want the users of MY forum to be able to point to an avatar they are storing at any URL they choose.

He was thinking of the default settings enabled for us admin folk. If you go back to SnitzBlitz where you downloaded the Avatar Mod ( http://www.snitzbitz.com/mods/details.asp?Version=All&mid=52 ) Scroll down to Add-Ons The true power of the Avatar addon is down there. Although I have not enabled these features in my forum I am quite sure the Dora Moon Add-On is the one you are seeking.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. But what I'm looking for is a way for a user to be able to define his or her avatar as something taht they are hosting off-site somewhere. phpBB allows this, and it gets used extensively in some other forums I frequent. I may have to try to code this up myself, or possibly find a means of letting users upload to my avatar folder.

Thanks for the feedback!

This doesn't do this:

# User Submitt Avatar - modified pop_add_avatar.asp file, to let user submit his own Avatar link url.

It is part of the Dora Moon Add-On

Oh! Goodness, thanks StewartFan! Somehow I missed what you were saying. I'm a bit obtuse at times.

I've downloaded the DoraMoon add on and will look at it shortly.

Thanks again!

In the mod files there are the files modified, you look at code and choose the line after the
##### My Avatar addon 1-1 : add below 1 line
'##### My Avatar addon 1-2 : add below 5 lines
and add the lines to your file. So for all the files that are to be modified.
