I've just picked up a faulty forum and would like to upgrade. The current version looks like it was created in the dark ages (v 3.1 SR4) Is it possible to upgrade from this, or would it be easier and cleaner to start afresh?
Make sure you use a different folder to upload all the new version files and keep a backup of your database. Once you've done this, run setup.asp. After setup.asp completes and the new version forum is running ok, you can change the new and older forum folder names, so that the new forum version can use the existing URL for your forum.
