Can somebody give me a little advice please

My forum is currently siting in the root directory of my website as is the default home page.

Click here to have a quick look

http://www.elvethamheathforum.info/default.asp

I want to change the default home page to something else and have the forum as part of my website rather than just my website.

What is the best way to do this? If I change the admins and say the forum is on a different page will it break it? Do i need to move it into a different folder first and what will happen if do that? Would I need to change the path of the database or could I leave that where it was?

You can just create a new folder and move the forum files there. You'd need to change the settings for the forum URL and the home page at Admin Options -> Main Configuration and you'd need to change the database connection string, unless you're using a DSN now. If you're not, it's just a matter of adding the folder name to the current path.
