Conqyer Chat can also intergrate with Snitz forums.quote: Originally posted by fastrax
I have been using conquer chat. It's a stand alone chat program. Works good. Though I have not tried it with lots of people.

I forget the topic in their forum, but it is possible. |

Its good, however if you already have it on your server, a second copy puts all the users and their chat on the first and vice-versa |

Thanks for the link Working great on our site as a staff chat. If only it were open source so's we could customise it and use it as our ain chat script. ConquerChat seems to have come a long way since last I looked at it, might give that a whirl instead.

I found a copy of Liquid Chat and I integrated it into my Forum. I used the ones above but couldn't secure them from being accessed outside the Forum. Now with this one it takes on your Forums look and you must be logged on to use it. You try to get to it from browser and it takes you to the problem screen that you must log on to Forum. THANKS for all the advise. |

I experimented with visubox too. After my Italian friend translated the basic options to me, it seemed to work well. |

Anyone else experienced javascript errors in IE with Visubox when trying to scroll the page with drag enabled or have I just broken something?!

Was going to do that after I made my previous post but I got distracted by work. Need to take a look at the changes I made to it first, make sure I din't break anything.
... Or maybe I'll leave it as it is - it might help convincing our staff members to chuck Internet Explorer!

The flashchat program on snitzbitz.com is really well done. It is a bit of a bear to set up if you try to do anything other than the defaults with it though because it appears that there may be some hard coded path information in the flash code. I can't confirm that, but that is my suspicion.
Now, if you want a really simple asp chat, and I mean REALLY simple, look at the chat code on haneng.com. It is a piece of cake to set up and it works just fine. I'm using it until I have time to track down the problems with the flash chat mentioned above. |
