Just noticed many of you (Snitz site included) have not updated the copywrite date in your site setup to include 2005. Happy New Year!!! |

I don't have to, simply because I don't use dates. Plus you really haven't copyrighted your forum. There are actually legal procedures you have to follow to accomplish that. But that is an entirely different subject. |

Understood and agreed. I just hate to see that 2004 on there with no mention of the current year. Hey, I like your forums. I really like the navigation you have on the Reznor site. Is that something available on the net? |

The Reznor site is not mine. I run a Nine Inch Nails forum, Distant relatives of Trent Reznor who is Nine Inch Nails used to own the company. I simply linked the Reznor placard that is on all of their heaters to the FAQ on their site that makes mention of this.
With that said and done, there are pleny of free DHTML menu scripts out that that do the same thing as the Reznor web site menu. One in particular is called Cool Menus from http://www.dhtmlcentral.com |

I had 2005 on there a few months ago, too many people complained about it, so I changed it back to 2004. It's been changed to 2005 now. |

Why?
Why are you asking why? I put it on there when I released the new version, what's the big deal? It was only a few months before 2005, and I didn't want to forget it when 2005 came around. Too many people made a big deal out of it, so I changed it because it wasn't worth the hassle. No one seemed to make a big deal about using 2005 in the copyright info in the comments of each file. go figure... |

What's with the attitude? I was simply asking you why you put the date on as 2005 when it was 2004. Sheesh. |

Actually you don't need to put the current year in your copyright at all as it doesn't change/enhance the copyright protection already afforded to your content under the various international copyright laws/treaties. The recommended norm is I believe just to put the first year of copyright only as all future years are already implied. |

You don't have to display anything, just as you don't have to spell out "All rights reserved", but like the copyright attorney I spent some time with a while back said; don't leave anything up to interpretation. The clearer you make you notice, the more likely you are to win a judgement if it comes to it. |
