I've searched awhile on the net and here but I don't know what to search for =)

What I want to do is have a link like http://www.blaha.com/test.asp?user=tribaliztic

and then on test.asp I use the variable tribaliztic from the url. How do I read the variable from the url?

At the top of test.asp, or at least before you need it, assign it to a variable like so:

MyVariable=request.querystring("user")

If test.asp includes Snitz's inc_func_common.asp, I'd recommend doing it like so:

MyVariable=chkstring(request.querystring("user"),"sqlstring")
