Hi everyone

When a user who is not logged in clicks 'reply to topic' they are told that they should log in but are also presented with the box to type their reply.

Some of my users seem to be typing a reply but then losing it as the next page asks them to log in.

I have searched for a way to stop people doing this and found this thread http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=48247

I tried adding strRequireReg="1" as suggested to post.asp but got the following error when I tried to log in on post.asp

Error Number: -2147217900
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
File: /forum/post.asp
Description: Line 1: Incorrect syntax near '='..
Code: No code available
Line: 125

Could anyone please advise how to fix the error or another easy way of preventing people from typing a reply then losing it as they are not logged in?

Many thanks
clare

Hi,

Could anyone advise on this please?

This is the page that I am referring to: (link removed)

It tells the user to register at the top yet allows them to type out a full reply which then gets lost.

Cheers
Clare

if you look closely at the form, it also has a username and password box which a normal post form does not have, this is so you can enter your username and password to do the post when you are not logged in.

If they are trying to make a post and they are not registered, then perhaps they should read the instructions first.
