I'm not sure if anyone can help here but I have recently bought a Gforce MX4000 graphics card but since installing it my mouse (plugged into standard mouse port, no roller ball, optical ) will occasionally stop responding (lock up) I've been to the manufactures website but cant find any support issues regarding this, it may be some simple setting but I cant seem to work it out. |

Check your system for spyware/malware as well could be just a coincidence that it started around the same time as you upgraded your video card (also check nvidia for newer versions of the video card driver as well as they release them fairly often). |

thanks for the replies, I had all available updates for direct x, nvidia, bios etc, and have Norton anti virus and ad-aware SE plus, no spy ware or anything like that. I managed to get in touch with the correct support department for the product, they said it was a faulty card, so I went to change it and the new one did the same.
Went back the the computer shop where I bought the card and apparently its not faulty at all but could be that my pc not having enough power (in terms of wattage) so on occasions the power would drop and freeze the whole pc and/or various other hardware conflictions.
The board I have is a matsonic (about 2 years old), and have read various pieces on the net and some graphics cards including the nvidia ones do have problems, basically I need to get a better mother board. |

It may just be the PSU then that needs replacement rather than the Motherboard, a failing or underpowered PSU will cause some pretty weird things to happen. |
