I am certain my problem is with my SMTP setup. I am getting mail from snitz into my inetpub/badmail so I know the snitz code is working.

I have been trying to wade through the microsoft web site but can't really understand what I need to do. Seems the SMTP can't relay the mail out. I have my mail server in as a relay.

Anyone recommend a helpful URL for SMTP?

I am using Exchange 5.5 on NT 4.0 on a different server than the one my forum is set up on.

I set up the SMTP on my forum server to relay to my mail server. I didn't check the settings on the mail server. I wasn't sure what to look for. So I don't know if my forum server is on the allowed relays on the mail server.

I do have a consultant that I think I will ask to check it out.

thanks!

The IP Address of the webserver will need to be added to the allowed list on the Exchange server, your consultant should be able to check that.

They should also be able to check the event log on the webserver to see the exact reason the mail is going into the badmail Q.

Your Snitz mail settings should also be pointing to the exchange server IP unless you want to just use the local IIS SMTP service for sending the emails out (which normally I'd recommend becuase its a little easier to setup imo).
