I noticed that my GIF emoticons have suddenly stopped moving I'm not sure that it is a browser problem, because other people have exprienced this too... What could it be?

I use SlimBrowser, which I believe uses the IE shell. Other members of my forum that reported the problem used AOL Browser and IE.

then the loops probably arent set to infinate.

If you have a gif editor, open them up and set the looping from whatever it is (probably 1) to infinate, that should fix it.

Okay, I will try that. I find it strange though that this problem suddenly occurred... Any idea why?

no idea.

Perhaps it has always been like that and gone un-noticed until now...

Smilies on my browser stop moving when i do the following.

When typing a message, animated smilies on the right hand side keep moving until i select one to be entered in to the massage text. The [code] is entered but this operation stops all animation in the present IE window. Animation starts back up again if the session is refreshed or restarted.

I assumed it was a "feature" in IE !!

More like a bug in IE

Doing what you said does not stop smilies from moving in FireFox

Could it be this is a bug in IE that originated over an automatic update? Because I've only experienced the problem for a week, before that there was not trouble at all.

Could be. Try installing a older IE and see if it works again.
I would say "Back up the IE folder and files" but, i dont know off the top of my head if you can do that.
