Does someone have or know the math needed to compute the distance between 2 places "as the crow flies" with the latitude/longitude coordinates known for each location?

Thanks Richard... looks like I'll be able to use what you've found. I'm kind of surprised that there is no definite script already made using ASP or ASP.NET ... gives me even more motivation to do it now!

thanks.. I also came across this

for anyone interested, they link to a free version of the zip code database with lat/long info... something I had to pay for, but I'm not sure how much information the free one has compared to mine.
