I want to update to the latest version of the Snitz forum, but I don't want to lose everything (posts, moderators etc)

If possible can someone explain how to back up the messageboard (I'm still knew to this) I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you in Advanced!

You won't lose anything. What database are you using?

Look in config.asp and one of these should be uncommented;

strDBType = "sqlserver"
'strDBType = "access"
'strDBType = "mysql"

The connection string should also tell you.

Podge.

Did you install the original forum, or did somebody else?

reason I ask is; if they installed any modifications/addons you may need to upgrade them as well

I would worry with installing a base forum, first. Can you tell us what DB you're using?

DeeBDancin, your site us not in compliance with the Snitz copyright. Please comply with it immediately. It is lacking the copyright notices in the source files and the link back to Snitz. No further help will be given until this is fixed.

I'll reach an agreement with you, since it does look that it was some kind of development company that setup your forum. I'll help you setup the new version and that version will include the copyrights.

Start by doing what Podge recommended above, by checking the config.asp file.
