Hello,
I am having a problem with 1 user that is revisiting and posting but does not show up on the last visit link on members.asp. All other members are showing up when they come back but this 1 particular member does not rotate up to the top of members.asp in last visit mode even after this member has just made a new post/reply.
Anbody know what the problem is? |

It's the way the visitor works, I have members that do that on purpose. They can read and post (supplying their credentials at the same time). Their 'last post' date can be 5 mins ago, but their 'last visit' date could be weeks ago. |

What do you mean they do that on purpose? How? |

How ? They logout, then post by supplying their username & password while they are posting.
Why ? Not sure, but I find it's more the chronic troll that does it. They DO avoid being on the Active Users list, can deny that they ever got a PM, and attempt to post after they have been banned. IMHO of course, I've never met someone who does it to really figure out why. |

One way to prevent it from happening is to make the "hot" forums require login to view them. That way, they'll have to log in to see what's going on there, and their last visit date will get updated correctly. That is, unless it drives them away... It's really a matter of preference for you now; do you prefer the extra "secretive" member, or would you rather lose him/her to get everyone's "last visit" date showing correctly? |
