Ok... we have an OK kinda thing going at http://forum.snitz.com ... but it's realy not all that...
the basic concept is good... but it could use for some tidying up... like using the Slash-Dot MOD + Group MOD (resulting in relevant conversation items for front page visitors... and some other things, like breaking up the "Menu" to relevant groups... puting in some space for some "Banners" (probably 2 or 3 total, like a single ~50x300 and a couple button banners perhaps?)
realy would apreciate input on this... it'll be put online in conjunction with the next couple/few major releases, which (I'm thinking) may result in a version 4.0 (Multi-Language Support, Archiving, Full Moderation, Revised Config.asp, Total re-write of all <% %> switches, etc...)

I know that the front page of the forum site on snitz is kinda plain, but it keeps with the look of the forum. (not that the forum is plain). in my opinion it is better to make everything look the same or close to it to give more of the feel that it is a full site that is all hooked in together. just my 2 cents

yes... but a nudge here... and a bump there... and then a little split every once in a while... will keep same basic look and feel... but slick it up a little.

Hey, I like your code button images ...
Current threads on the front page always help discussion inside, besides, it always changes the content on the front page, providing interest. Major announcements too.
You might also consider the latest modification threads to your front page, as they spark interest in between releases of the base code.
Clean design is good, but the additions above will make it more interesting.

If you looking for a complete re-design, and dont have time to do it, I have plenty of friends From places where I formerly volunteered.
The person who designed AoE2.com (will) - http://www.aoe2.com Ogre from GT - http://www.gametropics.com
And I know a few more. I used to be into design, but since I reformatted and lost all my imaging software, I havnt done anything in a while.

We don't want to change it too much because I had a phone interview yesterday, and mentioned my work on this site. He came to the site while I was talking to him and he mentioned how professional the site design was....

Dave,
I think I speak for all of us that we are proud that you did mention us... but I think your just the first person to actualy say that they have used us as a reference!
It's good for me to know that including your name in the credits is paying off for you :) and others!
Hope you get the job!

You mean this was a job interview by phone ? ok, now I feel like a knucklehead...I thought Dave was just famous or interesting enough to be interviewed by a newspaper of magazine....
Well...anyways...if it was a job interview and you liked them....I hope they liked you also.

hmm....
How about black??????
I personally like black themes because it gives a sense of immersion into a page, which can keep surfers there longer, without the need for flashy graphics... |
