Question:

Is anyone working on or does anyone know where to find a complete set of new buttons and images for the Snitz forum? The current icons are reminiscent of Windows 95 in an XP world.

Currently, I'm grabbing icons from other GPL projects (especially larger ones like KDE and stuff where there are hundreds to choose from,) and using those, but I'd rather find a complete set somewhere. I'm trying to find something that's similar to the current icons but different enough to look new or new-ish.

But a nice new universal set that works well on any background would be even better. Once I get a set chosen myself, I guess I'll package it or whatever so that other people can have it to, and maybe the main forum can be updated at some point with someone's set of icons.

Unfortunately, I have zero graphics design skills and all I have installed here for editing is Paint, so I'm stuck with grabbing other people's images. KDE's got some nice folders, locks, globes, and trash cans. The IM Client logos are already fine, I guess. The hard part is finding some of the special stuff like hot folders and a private message button.

What I'm really looking for is just an updated set of the current icons. It doesn't even have to be all that fancy or anything. It's just that when I look at the default Snitz icons, I'm reminded of Windows 95. It just looks old. And "Snitz Forums 2000"? That's *so* last millenium... ;)

(I'm not trying to sound mean. I'm trying to sound funny, even if it doesn't come across that way.) I'll definitely look at that first set there. That looks really good. I'm curious to see what they look like on a black background though. I'll check it out when I go back to working on it on Mondayish.

I am sure there are people who can do a set for a modest fee. If you want I can ask a few graphics desigenrs I know if they would be interested.
