I have just installed the forum onto my NT 4.0 server and get the following message when I go to forum/default.asp

An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.

Any ideas?

Could you switch off the friendly error messages in Internet Explorer so you can see what error (the description/number/error line etc.) ?
You might want to start with checking the settings in config.asp (see the readme.txt).

I have turned friendly off but still only get the message described. Is it possible to debug an asp page ??? In addition I believe I have the settings correct in config file.

I have noticed that if I run faq.asp I also get the same response.

Do you have an URL we could look at?

Make sure the permissions on the database and directory are READ/WRITE. Also make sure that IUSR_<machinename> has READ/WRITE also. That seems to be the biggest cause of problems for most users.

I have had the permissions checked and all appears to be ok. Read and write are available.

I've had this error with cfm-resources.com before. It had to do with the path to the Database.

Might want to check to make sure that you have the correct path specified to your database in config.asp.
