Hi,

I'm a new user but I have spent hours searching the forum for a solution to my problem (someone else had the same problem but it didn't answer my question).

It seems that the first step to installing any MOD is to go into admin and select MOD setup and use a drop-down list to select the MOD in question. Whenever I hit MOD setup it just hangs, so I try the alternative and all I'm presented with is the input screen for db files.

Is selecting the MOD in question from the drop-down essential to the MOD working, or can I just jump straight to the code changes after unzipping the files to the forum folder? If I can't do this why is MOD Setup hanging?

I know there's gotta be an obvious solution to this so apologies in advance!

Sounds like your host doesn't allow the components needed for the MOD setup. Therefore, you need to use the alternate MOD setup. To do that, you will need to copy and paste the entire code found in the dbs_ file provided with the mod.

The Filesystem Object is most likely disabled as Nikkol has suggested.

Copy the contents of the DBS file and paste them into the Alternate MOD Setup routine isntead, then just continue with the remainder of the MOD installation instructions.

You are not running Norton Antivirus? If you are, make sure Script Blocking is off.

And there we go! I said it would be simple and ruirib hit the nail on the head - Norton Script blocking.

You guys don't know how happy I am. Cheers ;)
