We're getting a little off topic perhaps, but:
"Perception Pattern recognition is the essence of intelligence." It is what enables us to see the spotted leopard hiding in the leaves. (Edit: I hate it when I mis-quote myself.) We must be sharp enough to perceive and resolute enough to trust our perceptions - regardless of societies current popular beliefs.
What one does with their observations is dependent on their own personal character.
(PS: I love Belgium Ale and was planning a trip there until the euro went so strong against the dollar.)
Being a son of a teacher and been heard all this crap before, when they went to search your laptop they had a right. If they suspect something then they have right to look. Yes it was wrong to be doing that and it was wrong for that IT to come by and close your laptop.
I thought that you did a good job hiding all your stuff on the computer. Ofcourse I would never have that problem b/c ALL the teachers at my high school know me too well to be telling someone that i've done wrong. Our princeible, assistant princeible, everyone in the main office, trust me too much to allow someone like myself to get into trouble.
Yes it was wrong that that "administrator" made you leave that $1,700 laptop there. And no HE does not run the school. He may think he runs it but he doesn't. He runs it but the school board runs him to run the school and the state gov't runs the school board. and so on and so on.
