I've been doin some dhtml stuff (in jacascript) but am wondering if its possible to do it all server side is asp (vbscript/C#).

Id rather not have anything really working on the client if I can get away from it.

Just wondering if there are any good books and tutorials out there.

Why ? believe me, you want as much of your code eexecuted by the client as possible otherwise you will overload your site, don't forget several thousand people can execute the code at the same time, so it is far better to use client side javascript if possible

I agree with HuwR. Even if it means intially sending more data than you need.

Take a look at gmail, it has so much emcascript (javascript) that it makes my head spin.
