Hello, all! We're about two weeks from launching a new site that incorporates a Snitz forum; the "preview new posts" feature is misbehaving, i.e. new posts don't preview but simply post. It's confused several beta testers (me included) who have posted their topics twice, only to discover that the original post was already posted. The forum is located at www.GayRites.net/forum. The guest account is UID: guest PWD: courtesy. Any great ideas -- especially solutions -- are greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

looks like some of the javascript that you have added might be conflicting with the javascript used for the preview. Probably something with the javascript for the "dynamic labels" that you have for the buttons. It is treating the Preview button as a submit button. |

I am helping David with the setup, and that is not it. The simplest test of deleting all the relevant files proved that (after the preemptive cache dump). And I checked all of the preview code right now to see if I messed something up when I was turning them into image buttons. |

Something is causing the form to be submitted when clicking on the preview button. It must be something that y'all have modified, because an unmodified version of the forum does not exhibit this behavior. |

My thoughts exactly. But I wasn't the only one playing around, and plan to take a comparative look with the base forum I have locally and the Gr one this weekend. If I fail, I'll post crying for attention and help . |

If anyone cares, I just remembered the solution/problem, checked and ssolved it.
The problem: when you substitute an image for a button, the borwser (correctly) reads it as a Submit button. You can't have a non-submit button image. Odd, but that is the way it works.
I simply changed it into a regular image link for the preview page. And it works in all of the browsers I have at home. If aynone thinks I might have problems with that, please do tell. |
