I have setup a personal web server that don't have SMTP install. But, I want to use an email validation when user signup with the forum. I"m using mysuer@yahoo.com to send out a validation email. How do I do that...
I'm not using Email Mode, but still have email validation send to user's email? thanks for your help
Install the standard version of MailEnable - http://www.mailenable.com/ Its a free mail server which you could install on your machine. Goto their forum for support setting it up.
Once you have set it up correctly you should be able to send it out using whatever email component you have installed on the machine e.g. CDONTS, CDOSYS, JMail, etc. You will need to specify this in the Email Server Config screen also.
