Ok, I'm helping a friend out with his site.
He already has a snitz forum, but it is an older version...How would I go about upgrading...would I lose all the things that are there now? (topics, categories, colors, filters etc.)
also, people are asking for an 18 and older forum where they can talk about more mature things (he gets some younger kids that go there and we don't want them reading some of the material) How would I go about doing that...
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you in advanced! DeeBDancin |

If you upgrade the proper way, you won't loose a thing but always backup the stuff you can't afford to loose
You can change the properties on a forum to only allow a chosen list of members, but how do you prove which people are over 18 ? |

database
I really have no idea what I'm doing...I don't know why he wants ME to help him LOL
I know I had to get frontpage to change the rest of the site...is that what you mean??
I'm sorry for being so ignorant in this subject...I've been lookin' into going to school, but I haven't found anything in my area that offers what I want. |

If you'd like to email me using the link here on the forum I can find sometime to help you upgrade tomorrow (if no-one else has offered to do it quicker for you).
You will need to know the frontpage logon id and password for his web host. Also if he has any special modifications made to the forum then these will be lost during the upgrade process, but everything else will still be fine posts etc. |

DeeBDancin, I'd go with Gremlin or someone else to help you with this process. That will be less risky than learning and trying to do it at the same time. |
