Any help appreciated.

I was checking the activity of the forum on my site (http://www.sonday6.com/forum/default.asp) the other day
and noticed that all the POSTS are missing.

the posts have been replaced by "404 - page not found" error messages.

After spending a couple of more minutes poking around our forum, I have discovered that of the links at top right -- the HOME link, the ACTIVE TOPICS link, and the ADMIN OPTIONS link -- are no longer functional.
Can someone please tell me how to restore these options?

Thanks so much.

check and make sure that topic.asp is still there. Did you delete it by mistake?

What a Speedy reply!

I checked both the Forum and Forum Database folders for the site. I do not see that Topics file (but when I check my c:drive -- I do have that file).

So, can you remind me how to upload it?

And will that Topics file solve the other "gone missing" problems, too?

All I can say is, I'm no pro.... and it has been months since I uploaded this the first time.

Thanks for the help.

Oh - I should have just waited for a response. I tried to upload that file and made a mess of things. Now, when I click a Topic, I get a page with this message:

ADODB.Recordset error '800a0bb9'

Arguments are of the wrong type, are out of acceptable range, or are in conflict with one another.

/forum/topic.asp, line 103

I'm quitting until someone has time to help me. Do I need to just reload the entire forum?
Will I lose everything that is there now if I do?
HELP. I think I'm in over my head.

is it possible that the topic.asp file that you had was modified in any way? Any MODS installed?

Could you turn off "Require Registration", so that we can view your forum? Or provide a test account that we can log in with?

I do not have any MODS installed. Never could figure that out.

As for turning off "require registration" -- I can't access the ADMIN
Am I out of luck?

since you don't have much on your forum, it might be easier to just start over. Some topics can be viewed, others can't. I'm not sure why though..

OK - so do I have to start from scratch with the download, or since the files (that I originally downloaded from you are on my c:drive, can I just publish them all again.

Or am I even asking the right question? Can I use the same database name? Is the virtual path the same? ....can you step me through it?

First, I would re-upload all of the .asp files (except for the config.asp file). Then, re-upload all of the image files (.gif). Then check and see if you are still getting errors. If you are, then I would re-upload the database file.
