I tested the following;

I used "Send Topic to a friend" to send to my gmail account and then changed my registered email address here to my gmail address.

The "Send to a friend" email was delivered to my inbox and the "change email address" email was sent to my spam box.

The only differences between the two emails were the sender and type of link included in the email.

I tried the same from my own forums and both were delivered to my gmail inbox.

Changing the sender (postmaster_at_forum.snitz.com) may help, however Gmail's Spam detection isn't the best from what I've been reading on the web.

if it is the links in the email causing the problem, it's gonna take some work to get round it...

I think it may be the sender address.
