I am starting a new site that is a spinoff of my current one.

I want to take one category of forums from my old site and have that be the start of the forums on my new site (move all messages from that section).

Does anyone have code that can do this? The databases will be on the same server.

Let me know,

Bumping is not a very nice thing to do. Certainly if the this question has been asked already.
However, I'm not unwilling to answer this question.
AFAIK there's no 'off the shelve' script that does this.
However, here's a simple approach ; COPY your DB, and start with that.
Remove EVERYTHING, except for the category you want to keep.
Tadaaaaa. (Windows start up sound)

Thanks for the suggestion and your opinions on bumping topics.

I will try that and see if the code barfs at it.
