It does look a lot like a first effort, I do have to say :(
all the html blockquotes and non-breaking spaces suggest you used spaces etc to lay your site out - you may get better mileage using tables for layout (set border width and padding to zero)
The fonts are pretty grim imho, maybe go for something cleaner. If you can learn something about CSS, it will help in the future. You may also wish to consider one of the many wonderful books available on graphic design, consider your colour schemes, etc. If this was a revenue-taking site, would you trust it to take your money responsibly? This is usually a good guideline for if something looks swish enough or not.
But I am not trying to downer you in the least - you did ask for feedback, so here it is :)
Get yourself a copy of Frontpage or dreamweaver or one of the proper web development tools, and go right through the tutorials - it is easy to make an ugly site, very hard to make a beautiful one - I've been working with the web since text-only browsers, and now I just get a graphic designer to make sites for me as anything I touch looks shoddy! Design and webmastering really are separate disciplines now, so I'd suggest going for one or the other and specialising :)
By the way, get rid of all those ugly banner ads too - change host if they're forced upon you, but they really do nothing for you!
[Edit]PS - welcome to the team - do not lose heart, stick with it, and keep learning! |

1. Use an easy to use web editor for beginners - I recommend Frontpage for people who have no prior experiences with creating websites.
2. Post in web design forums for beginners - you will get much more attention and help than posting here.
3. Drop bannerads, animated gifs and everything related for advertising.
4. Use CSS (cascading style sheets) |
