Office 2003 SP1 seems to have fixed this problem for me. Junk e-mail is now staying in the Junk Mail folder instead of being moved to the respective e-mail boxes.

also look at SpamBayes on Sourceforge - can use in Outlook and run in parallel with the outlook builtin spam filtering. It is awesome :) (the price is right too)

I've found the native outlook 2003 spam filter well over 95% accurate on spam (make sure you've got the latest filters) .. been very impressed with it personally.

btw sp1 of outlook does improve spam filtering, but the spambayes app uses *better than* bayesian algorithms, and will learn to cope with new spam tricks as they get ever more devious.

<platform>I wish all spammers ill. It costs me time and money to download their adverts for things I neither want or are able to use (eg a dentist over 3000 miles away...). They makle me think horrid things, spoiling all the trust and loveliness that was the internet only a few years back, when you would publish your email address on a web page and usenet was useful. Now my walk down cyberstreet is littered with adverts, hoardings, scrunched-up flyers and madmen jumping out and shouting about some prize I won (yeh right) for being the millionth (yeh right) person to view their popup ad. There goes the neighbourhood. </platform>

AWESOME. Thanks for the heads up, Richard. This, as you may recall, has been a pain in my rear for some time as well. Haven't bothered to check Office Updates for a while, so I'm glad you posted here.

I'm with ya PDRG, something's GOT to be done about SPAM. It's way out of control. I block over 60% of mails coming through my mail server as SPAM.

Between my server filters and MSO2003 picking up the rest of the slack, I hope to be in much better shape...
