I have tried everything to get subscriptions by topic activated on my forum and I can't figure it out. I have done 1-4 below, but I can't figure out how to make the topics themselves show an icon or whatever to select them. I thought I had them all set at one time, but I never received an email letting me know of new posts. Any help would be appreciated at www.funnysnaps.com/absea/forum
1. Enable the Email function in Admin Options -> Email Server Configuration and choose the mail component and specify the address of your mail server.
2. In Admin Options -> Feature Configuration select there the subscription level you want to use (whole board, category, forum or topic)
3. Now you have to turn on the subscriptions for every single category and forum you want to use them with. This is done with editing the category/forum (click on the pencil icon ( ) on the right side of the the categories/forums on your default.asp).

Ok, got this part figured out. I used the test login and I can see them too. Must be after you subscribe to them they go away. Now the next part is why do I not get emails when a new post is made? I have my email working from within the forum and my settings are correct, but I still don't get any email notifications. I tried it with my test login and it shows subscriptions, but no mail to that address either.

The other email works fine from within the forum. I tested it by checking my email after a post is made to a forum that I am subscribed to.
It's late and I have to work tomorrow. I will check this in the morning. Thanks for all of your help; I really appreciate it! |

Similiar problem Followed all steps in all posts on this board for the last week. Finally registered so I could post. Subscriptions 1 Regular email link works, lik click on profile email user. Works fine. 2 Subscription do not work, followed all steps I could read. Started new category from scratch, added forum, added topic, all have subscription level at highest. Setup: This is an internal forum not for public. Forum is running on IIs on windows 2000 server. Email is exchange server. What confuses me is the ability to send email through the link but not through the subscription. So I assume the e-mail side is working, not the subscription settings. Have not modified code except for Company logo top left. Any and all suggestions appreciated.
