Sorry you can't get it working. If you've got the blank box showing up, I'd bet you have the wrong url.
I keep my avatars in a folder called "avatar". So my url looks like this -
avatar/sam.gif
No slash in front (I remember that's a mistake I made)
You also have to make sure the extension is right - .gif .bmp .jpg etc...
Assuming you didn't backup any of your files. If you havn't modified any of these files with another mod, just replace it with a new one. If you have other mods you should just go through the readme backwards, starting with topic.asp |

I'm having trouble with this mod and version 3.4.05. I get to the end of the topic.asp edits and then I'm not sure what to do because it doesn't mention version 3.4.05 for any of the further edits. How do I know if or which edits to make after line 552 for topic.asp?
When I stop after line 552 I'm almost there, the only thing missing is the avatars in posts. I have the admin controls and avatars show up in my profile, just not on posts. I don't even have a broken image link in posts, there is just nothing there are all.
If anybody knows what edits I need to make for 3.4.05, please let me know!

is there no avatar mod that allows the users to upload avatars, or hotlinking images? |

Thanks for the reply, but I'm still confused. The Readme.html file for the avatar mod doesn't have anything listed higher than 3.4.0.3. So when you say I only need the 3.4.04 stuff, do you mean I do what I've done already and stop editing the topic.asp script after that line 552? There is no "if you have mod 3.4.04, then edit this code".
