I keep getting this error:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Field 'FORUM_MEMBERS.M_SIG' cannot be a zero-length string.
/forum/register.asp, line 568

Have you made any changes to the register.asp or inc_profile.asp files? Did you run setup.asp after upgrading?

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

I ran setup.asp after upgrade and then added the Integration MOD for Snitz Forums 3.4.xx v1.2 from Author: D3mon

it's all like Japanese to me as I'm just an end user who ended up using snitz years ago and I didn't know I had to know asp but I'm stuck with it now. I like Snitz, it's a good forum but when I have to upgrade it's a nightmare for me.
so basically I read through that thread and so do I have to upgrade to access 2000? I think I have access 97.
Nope..I just checked and I have 2000. |

No, you need to open your database, open the FORUM_MEMBER's table and set the "Allow Zero Length" property for the M_SIG field to yes. You need to use Microsoft Access to do this. |

I can't find the "Allow Zero Length" property for the M_SIG field. I've looked everywhere. Where is this property located?
Thanks. |

You need to open the table in design view, click the field. The property is located at the bottom of the table design, in the General Tab, can't be missed.
oh cool. Yeah now I see it. Thanks. |

If the problem manifests itself with other fields (it has happened), the fix will be the same, as annoying as it may sound...
Yep it just has will fix them as they come up.
Thanks. |

just thought of something....
couldn't I just make every field "Allow Zero Length"?
That would save me time cause I'm on dialup and it takes like 15 minutes to re-upload the database. |
