I've searched on this and found the UserGroups MOD, but anyone any other ideas?

I've downloaded the forum and all is great with the NT authentication.
However we have a general account (called Techno) that studnets use if for some reason their account hasnt been created yet.
I had a look at the Usergroups Mod last night, but I'm sure I've not installed it right!
Any other sujestions as to make this one user read only to the whole forum?

haven't tried it, but what if you lock the Techno account? will they still be able to visit the forum and read?

No Nikkol, locking the account will keep the user outta the board.

The only solution I have found is to lock Techno's access to the Database (MS Access) folder to read only. This works as when ever the user trys to post they get an error when they try to modify the database, which is fine as I can customes this.

However when this system goes "live" we want to use the MS SQL back end. so this solution no longer works. Any ideas on how to do it with this?

I think the UserGroup MOD is the only way to do this with MS SQL.
