"Yahoo on Wednesday in the US began blocking Cerulean Studios' Trillian software from communicating with its instant messaging service in its latest step to fence its popular client from third-party integrators. "

from http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/software/0,2000061733,39151354,00.htm

how long do you think it will take for the Cerulean boys to code around this one ??

It's already done. I downloaded the patch for it a couple hours ago.

ROFL ... great , but I don't think the war is over yet. I hope Yahoo looses this one.

Thanks for the tip though, I'm off to download the patch.

... and it works like a charm. Unfortunately it seems the Yahoo blocking extends to my MailWasher Pro as well

It's not just Trillian. Gaim's Yahoo plugin is also being blocked. And I'm sure all other all in one IM programs are being blocked too until they provide a fix for it.

Sure, but the small print says that Yahoo will keep changing their encyrption/handshaking/whatever.

Personally, I don't like it, but I can appreciate that they wantit to work a certain way.
