I need a mod that allows me to lock categories (so no new topics can be created), but that also allows me to unlock individual topics for replies -- without moderation on. Seems like a really logical request. Even Snitz needs it!! On their own forum homepage, they've got a this:

Announcements: New Releases
This forum is to anounce releases of new versions.

NOTE: Posting is restricted to the Forum Admins. Any other new topics will either be moved or deleted. Discussion attached to existing topics is acceptable.

By the looks of that note, they could use this feature for their news release forum!
