Hi. I would like to allow certain members who have registered in the forum (v3.4.04) access to certain pages on my site, but not everyone... Is this possible? I think I will need to add the universal login mod? Any pointers for this will be greatfully received, as I think I read everything but if someone has already asked then sorry. I only started web building in the last 3 months so keep it reasonably simple please, although i will research it if I don't understand. Thanks in advance. my site is www.grab-your-rifle.com

There is a variable you can check to see if somebody is logged in or not. I forget which one it is, but you can search the inc_header.asp for it. |

Thanks Radianation. Not sure what that means or if it answers my question. could you explain a little please.. An example of what im after would be to lock all members so they cant access certain areas and then only unlock certain members that you want to have full access.. For the whole site though not just the forum. |

Interested in this myself. The IPgate Mod can redirect a list of users to new pages. I wonder if that redirect code could be adapted for the User Group mod. |

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and am looking for a bit of help, and this seems to be jsut the question I was going to ask.
Basically I am helping organise a conference for people in my company, there are a number of us that are organising it.
I want to have a forum on the intranet site that everyone can look at from the company, if they want to login they can use the normal registration and login like you find on most websites. But I would like a seperate area for the group organising the conference, a number of pages where we can upload document files bascially for our eyes only. But I would like to do this using the login and password used in the forum.
I think this is similar to what 50Cal wanted, or maybe not but have you got any ideas?? I am new to using a forum so please be gentle, I have used ASP but it was a while ago. |

Thanks you lot and yes I think se99paj, you and I are after the same thing. Will give this Mod a go but be prepared for me asking a lot more questions if I have problems (Dave!) Will no doubt be back shortly to let you know how it went. Thanks everyone. |
