Hi all, im looknig to build a team to help design and run an indie/rock music website. Its voluntary based, and will run around a strong community ethos. The ideal people to become part of the sites team would be from the UK, as it involved mainly the UK music scene, knowledge of which would be a bonus.
People of all skills are required, both writers, artists and tech savvy music fans.
The exact nature of the site is undecided as of yet, as im trying to get feedback on my ideas, plus im revising for exams at the minute!
Anyone below is a post i made at the sites forums which explains the ideas i have in mind.
quote:
As things have slowed down, due to exam revision and trying to sort out my uni place, ive not really done a great deal on the site.
Ive got a few ideas of what id like to do, but im open to suggestions.
At the minute im looking into the feasibility of setting 36-degrees up as a repository of 'music diaries' where regular contributors have there own blog space, and use it as they please, as long as most of it is musically related.
Another idea is a festival special, my and a friend are going to truck, armed with a digital camera and a notebook, so ill be creating a decent spead for that event. If anyone is going to any other festivals, more stuff along these lines would be good.
Im also looking for a core of people to help with the development of the site, so we can sort out what direction it needs to go in. Skills arent a nessecity, but people who can write, market, create grpahics, or help out on the technical front would be excellent.
Oher things i could look into doing is getting people who want to review gigs, guestlist passes, its somhing ive done in the past, and once weve got somthing decent to show to the record companies, theyre normally pretty happy to stick two names on the guestlist, and possibly give backstage access or photographers passes.
The last area which was popular in the sites last incarnation was the unsigned bands area, which id like to investigate, possibly looking into providing streaming audio from good acts, and doing some features perhaps.
Anyway, stick your ideas, or pledges of aligence in here.
Stuart.
If anyones interested, come along to the forums, which are a desolate place at the minute, and let me know your interested, and we'll see what we can do from there.
