HI there,
encountered a strange problem. I have version 3.4.03. When either having new members register or exsisting members changing thier email address, they are getting a message that the email address is already in use. (even though it is not)
I checked the email list and none are used.
It seems to be only with members that have the same "@....com" portion of the email, even thought 3 members have sucessfully registered.
Any sugestions as to a fix? |

I am getting the same or at least a similar problem. My profile, when logged in as admin, always reverts back to yourmail@server.com. If I try to correct it, the email aleady exists. |

Do you have email enabled in the admin settings .. I came across something recently very similar, users couldn't change their email addr becuase Email hadn't been enabled in the Snitz Email settings .. I meant to look into it further at the time but haven't had a chance. |

Ok, I fixed it. I had to temporarilly set Email Validation OFF, change the admin email, then turn the validation back on.... it's fine now ;) Thanks. |

turned off email validation, but still getting same error that email address already exsists, but it has never been used.
I have all email settings on, and seemed to be working fine until this popped up. |

The problem does not lie with email validation. If at all, it may lie with the unique email setting. Make sure you include the FORUM_MEMBERS_PENDING table in your search for the duplicate emails. |

Thanks for the reply.
I am very new to this. I do not know how to search for duplicate emails.
I used the update forum counts, and when it was finished, the total members it showed where 5 higher than the member list. I dont know how to find and delete these? |

I ran into a problem where the email address was in the members table under the New_Email Field. The member was deleted so the username was N/A. The member tried to re-register and got an error that the email is in use. One I deleted the email from the New_Email field it was fine.
I don't think it should work that way but at least I know how to fix it. |

A quicky workaround when this occurs is to click on the PROFILE link at the top right, it will bring up a page that has a link CLICK HERE to register, if you take that linke it will bring up the page to AGREE and then the page to enter your information. Once that is done, ALL is well.

I'm having this trouble now.
I have looked through all of the tables and the address is nowhere. Including the new mail field.
