When I click on a link that opens a new window (using IE6),
the new window pops up halfway off my screen.

This just started and seems to be inherent with my browser.
And, I find it very annoying.

Is there a way to fix that?

try closing all your browser windows, with the last one being centered on the screen before closing. then open and try again. if that doesn't work, try changing your screen resolution and then back again. seems i've had this happen before, but i don't really remember how it resolved.

Things tried:
Resize & re-position pop-up window.
Then;
Close window, or minimize it, then restore it, then close it.
And multiples of the above, including exiting the browser, turning off the computer, etc.

Its in a second story office next to a window.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Hi, Panhandler.

Maybe you can check the following key in the registry:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

At the right pane, at the very end, you will find a value named "Window_placement", you can change it or even delete it, I think (backup the whole IE Key before).

After deleting it, you can open a new window, resize and position it as needed, close it and see if the problem is solved.

Best Regards

HuwR: Yes, Its been booted several times, without cure.

miperez: That's an intriguing idea. I'll get into it tomorrow sometime and see if it will work.
Thanks!
