Both using the same host, but one using SUNASP 3.6.2 and the one I recently registraighted is using (the new) ASP ver. 4.0 engine.

SForum works perfectly with 3.6.2 but not with 4.0.

I can setup the forum, but when try to start with default.asp an error is generated.

No, Snitz Forums won't work with the latest version of Sun One. We tested it with the previous version Sun One ASP 3.6.2 and it works great, as you have found out.
But whatever changes Sun made to thier new version, Snitz Forums won't work with it.

As you can gather from the error message, the problem lies with the way some VBScript functions have been implemented in version 4.0. Last time I heard about it, the issue was known to Sun but fixes were not expected in a short notice. And that has been quite a while ago...

Thanks for the answer!

But what can I do / hope for???

Does SUN solve the problem with ver. 4.00.01 (or something like that - probably not can I understand as they have known the problem for a "long" time)

OR

Is it possible to change som code in SF so that ver. 3.4.05 will work?

Well I really don't know whether Sun will fix the issue. It should, but the problem has been known for a while and nothing has been done. Also it's not reallistic to expect changes in Snitz. You see, we aren't even sure that there aren't several issues with VbScript support in Sun ONE ASP. We've found some, but we didn't test further. We just concluded the issue had to do with VbScript and stopped there. I think there were two issues, one that could be overcome and another that I think had to do with the InStrRev. Why not use the forum on the server that supports the older version of Sun ONE ASP?

My webhost have told me that is not possible.

I have told them that it is ok if the site is "deleted", so I can upload all the files to a server with SUN 3.6.2.

But they still have tell me that that is not possible....

My solution her and now is to put the forum on one of my other domains wich is unot using SUN4.0
