Hi all,

an email address I *only* use for my snitz (this forum!) account was spammed today - is there a way this has been 'legitimately' prized from this site as I can see no other way it can have been found. If there is a 'hide my details' option I haven't ticked, |I really need to do so!

thx all

Not possible. Your address is hidden from all public view, you don't need to check anything.

Maybe you emailed someone using the email feature on these forums, who saved your address in his/her address book and had his/her computer compromised?

Hmmm - I never do that. Thanks for your thoughts guys, but I am still at a total loss how this could have happened!

Have you always used the same email address since you signed up ? if so it may have been harvested at that time, the forum wasn't so secure back then, especially where email is concerned.

They also use random name generators for spam these days. They find a domain, and just slap every name possible in front of it and see what gets through.
