I've seen a few requests for a plugin that does this, but nothing seems to match what I'm looking for.

Example:

User edits profile. Uploads image to my server from their computer. Image is converted to binary and stored as a BLOB in the snitz database linked to that specific user. Ideally the image could be resized before saving. Constraints should apply to the file type/size. The image would then be displayed in their profile instead of the existing image that they can simply link to.

I've seen ASP scripts that will do the majority of this, but I'm wondering if something has already been developed specifically for snitz?

Also, I really want to expand the user profile page in general, allowing the users more customization and eventually the ability to link to other users (much like the Friendster concept).

Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I'm also willing to *PAY* any programmers or developers that can assist me in completing this task. THanks.

I believe there are already some image mods which do this, although the images aren't stored in the database, they are simply uploaded to user folder. Do you currently have any uploading capabilities for your users in the forum?

I've been doing what you want for a long time, but it was with an image mod add-on the Huw put in with his portal code (www.magicmushroom.org.uk)

As for the buddies list, I haven't seen a mod for it, but it wouldn't be hard to make one.

I can manage the uploading part. I was just hoping to find something already assembled instead of doing it myself from scratch. ; )

That portal is pretty cool, but as with most portals I find it too busy for most users to comprehend.
