I am having trouble with admin options. It seems to keep looping back and forth asking for Admin name and PW but won't let me edit, or do any options

When you first login, it brings you back to guestbook.asp, but a cookie is saved so you should be able to go back from there... if it gives you the login again, just refresh the page.

Still looping... I tried refreshing, logging in and out, closing the browser clearing the cache and still won't let me administer it.
Even if I just click on delete it asks for PW and still loops back to view guestbook

Ok, I manually deleted my cookies and it works now. But it still loops 2 or 3 times before I can get to the options.

Hi Da_Stimulator, The update fixed most of the previous problems, but I wonder if not the color for the namne of the "Posted by:" result is wrong. If you take a look at my guestbook you'l see what I mean. I can't see the name of the author - only the howering color. I use win standard color settings. Tomas and thanks for your efford!
I have the same problem with looping.

Hey tomasalsbro
Open guestbook.asp and on line 283 try changing this
<td bgcolor="<%=strHeadCellColor%>">
to something different. I changed mine to this
<td bgcolor="<%=strCategoryCellColor%>">
so now you can see the link color. Maybe it'll work better for your link color to

There are alot of different str you can use.
Open some of the .asp files up and take a look at them.
Some examples are .... <% =strHeadCellColor %> <% =strHeadFontColor %> <% =strCategoryCellColor %> <% =strCategoryFontColor %> <% =strForumFontColor %> <% =strAltForumCellColor %> <% =strForumFirstCellColor %>
Just remember, some of these are FONT colors some are cell colors...etc...but I mix and matched mine to suit my forums colors, or if there is a specific color you want the cell bg to be just use
bgcolor="put the color or hex code here"
But if you do it this way and change forum colors through admin it will stay the color or hex you entered
I am just a newbie to this kind of stuff to, but I like to experiment

When you get a min.. Can you put a Total Number of how many people sign the guestbook? Somewhere around the top.
Thanks...
Awesome Job!

Da_Stimulator
Sorry to bother you again... Can you tell me how to change the "Email To" within the Guestbook to use the forum Email? Like I'm using CDONTS. Right now it opens my Outlook email Client. I want to see if I can use the email off the forum.
Thanks, Rick
